  3. Ostpreußen – Entschwundene Welt

East Prussia – A Vanished World is a documentary for the cinema, a narrative film that relies on the movie theater as a window into another era. This cinematic documentary is a pure compilation film. There are no staged scenes, no statements from eyewitnesses or experts, and no new footage. The documentary draws exclusively on film footage—and, at the beginning, on audio recordings as well. Since over 80 percent of the footage was shot by amateurs, East Prussia – A Vanished World also frequently takes on a biographical tone.

Why this site?

Hamburg has a lively repertory-cinema scene — the Abaton, the municipal Metropolis, the 3001, the Zeise cinemas, the Studio-Kino and the Savoy — but no shared programme. This site lays every house onto one searchable day view.

How do push notifications work?

Subscribe via the "Push Digest" button or the footer link. Three time slots are available: morning (07:00), afternoon (17:00) and a weekly Sunday overview (09:00).
